Rare tames require the animal trap, Ive never seen a rare, Ive tamed close to 40-50 animals. Getting hit does NOT interrupt you unless that hit kills you and nobody can hit your tame and cancel it. Example I can have 4 or 5 animals hitting me while pressing Tame, BBXAY or whatever it will be and complete a tame. If your killed during the QTE then it will obviously fail, but you can tame while being hit as long as you have the def and hp to eat those hits without dying. Patience and persistence is the key to taming in its current state. Meaning a player cant come up and gank your tame. Nobody can interrupt or screw up your tame, except you. I have tamed 4 back to back and none in 2 hours. I find that I tame 1-4 animals per 30min call on average, but this can be + or. It is believed that a mount only has a 1% chance to produce at tame. Collect the card from the warehouse and either use it for yourself or sell it on the market to other players.
Collect the card from your Pen and it will go into your warehouse stash (The sign by the house). If it was a mount, as soon as its labor is done you will recieve a mount card in your animal pen. After it is done working it will go away forever and you will have the items it created. Step 6: Once determined if it is livestock or a mount the animal can be assigned to labor and each animal has certain resources it will produce once put to work. Release animals you dont wish to use to make room) (You can catch as many animals as your labor pool can hold, example X/24, 24 being the cap depending on your estate level. If you have not unlocked your estate and built your Animal Pen then you CANNOT TAME! Once in your estate the animal will go into either the Livestock or Mounts section of your Labor Pool. Step 5: After a successful tame your animal goes directly to your estate. If you dont click and hold X within maybe 5 to 7 seconds the QTE goes away and the animal is killable again so pay attention and fight only 1 animal at a time until your extremely comfortable with the taming process. If your in an attack combo and see the "Tame X" symbol, dodge roll to cancel and run up to the animal and Press and Hold X, Followed by whatever button combo the QTE requires, example.AAYYBX. Step 4: The Tame Icon will appear over the animal you triggered for a few moments, Some hearts will appear around the animal as well, and no more damage can be done to the animal once the QTE triggers, BUT Not for long. Step 3: Kill said animals over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again until you trigger a QTE (Quick Time Event). Step 2: The animal will now have a whistle symbol over its head to let you know this is the correct animal.
This gives you an increased chance of proccing the tame QTE for 30 min. Step 1: use a call for the animal you wish to tame.
